Change the sublist view from form code

Hi,

Is there any way of setting the search used in the Sublist view from within the form code. The ID for the view is searchid but I have tried setting this using nlapiSetFieldValue but this does not work. Does anyone know if this is possible - i'm triggering the code from a custom button.
