Create Journal entry from invoice

Hi - I am trying to find a way to create a journal entry when an invoice is for warranty products.  I want the entry to debit warranty expense and credit cost of goods sold.  It seems that I can do this with a workflow action script.  Has anyone done this?  I am great with workflows but very, very new to scripting.

Can anyone offer any help?
