ASA Field to GP Amt

I need to use ASA (alternate sales amount) to get quota to forecast based on Gross profit for reps.  This field already calculates on our orders, but I want to use in in forecasting and quotas.   According to help files I can do this using the asa field with a script.    Has anyone already have this written so that the GP of the line item also populates the "ASA field"?  Anyone want to share?  You would be my hero:D
