Google Webmaster Tools

edited Nov 27, 2019 7:42PM in Web Site / E-Commerce

I have been chatting with a couple of NetSuite customers. None of them  registered their site with Google Webmaster Tools. IMHO - this is something all ecommerce sites should do.

If you have an ecommerce site and have not registered, it is quick and easy.

I just did it for our test site and it took about 10 minutes. It did it on our test site so I could make sure robots.txt was working and so I could tell google to stay out of the test site.

Google lets you monitor many things about your site. Probably the most important is letting you see the external links pointing to your site. You use this to make sure that you 301 redirect any URL's which have external links.

Howdy, Stranger!
