descriptive URLs not being used

hello,

I'm having some trouble with the descriptive urls. They are enabled, and work if you type them in to a browser, but the links in the item pages still go to the old netsuite style urls (ie site.com/s.nl/category.665/.f?sc%20=15).

I used the 'bulk set url components' utility, and then manually edited many of the items as well.

So how do I get netsuite to ACTUALLY use the descriptive urls?

also the help pages say that 301 redirects will be added from the old (s.nl/category.665/.f?sc%20=15) style urls to the new descriptive urls. I haven't seen this happening either... what gives?
