nofollow tag update

This is a bit late in getting posted but better late than never.
In 2008, sites would use nofollow on links to the privacy page, contact us page, etc. This seems to be ok with Google as they posted about it on Google.com.
Around June 2009, Google strongly hinted that nofollow should not be used for links within the same site.
Around August 2009, Google stated that its recommendation would be to remove nofollow on links pointing to the same site.
I realize this goes against what I and others have previously posted. I realize this goes against what is posted on Google's own web page about nofollow. I expect someone at Google will get around to clarifying this point on their web site.
