301 redirects for a new customer

I apologize if this is discussed elsewhere but I could not find it referenced...

I am getting ready to go live on September 1 with our web sote with 4,700+ items.  We want to do 301 redirects so we can minimize the ranking impact for our products.  We were just told today by our reseller that there is no way to upload in bulk our Old URL/New URL data.  We cannot believe we are the first to want to do this.  Has anyone out there found a way to do a mass upload of 301 redirects?
