Matrix Items and Search Engines
I am adding a line of silicone hose to my site. Unlike most Matrix Items, in this case the price of each item varies (i.e. a 1" ID hose costs less than a 3" ID hose. As I can have up to 30 sizes, 3 colors, and 2 finishes, each hose comes in 150+ iterations (and I kept separate the 1 meter hose from the 4 meter hose, and the high temp Nomex hose from the standard hose).
But I have the impression that I can't get search engines to record the pricing of individual subitems, say in Google Base, or for that matter even the sizes that are on offer. The only suggestion I was given was to spam the metatags with repetitive entries like 3" ID Silicone hose, 1 meter in length, $45.27, 3.5" ID Silicone hose, 1 meter in length, $50.25, and so forth. Besides being a very long and tedious exercise, is there anything else I can do?
