Search Keywords in list view?

Is there a reason why I can't get the new "Search Keywords" field to show up as an editable field in my item list view? I'd like to be able to utilize this feature by quickly going down the list and adding keywords -- not individually opening and editing each item -- but that field is not available in the "results>columns" list on "Edit view".
