Validate Line not triggering on web created Sales Orders

We do some Gross Profit calculations per line item on Sales Orders using a script triggered by the Validate Line event.  Orders placed on our fully NetSuite hosted website generate a Cash Sale sales order.  It appears that the Validate Line event is never triggered in this scenario.  Is that correct?  Anyone know of any workarounds? 

{EDIT}  I also just noticed - we include the 'PO Rate' field on our Cash Sale sales order.  This field is not getting populated on orders generated from the website.  We use this field as part of the Gross Profit calculations in the Validate Line scripts.  So - I'm not sure if the script is running and failing because it can't find 'PO Rate', or not running at all.  Any ideas on why 'PO Rate' would not get populated in the web order case?
