Reading Role in My Accounts script

What is the proper syntax to read the user's role from within the webstore, my accounts page.

We have a script that needs to fire depending on a user's role (i.e., customer center 1 vs. customer center 2) and I cannot figure our how to expose the customer's role within the script.
