My Account - Registration/Login Page Issue

I have 2 custom presentation tabs that I use for the homepage and contact page. On these pages, i have links to register and login. I also have custom tags to replace the navigation portlet so it is a blank navigation column.

Problem i'm having now is

1. When i click on register or login, Netsuite then decided to throw in the my account navigation portlet next to my blank navigation column which results in 2 navigation columns instead of just the one.

2. The other issue is page heading seems to be coming from the previous page which means registration page will have "contact" as a heading or "homepage" as a heading depending on where you click the link from. How does it work exactly, the heading for My Account page?
