Pulling specific records from Custom Record into website

I know this is possible but im stuck trying to do it. We have a Custom Record which has a list of records. I want to pull specific records from this Custom Record to show on our item templates. Does anyone have an idea where to start on this?

I know it would involve creating a a suitescript and deploying that script but im new to this type of programming.

Any help would be appreciated.
