Developer for importing RSS Feed to Information Item

I'm looking for a way to read an rss feed daily and then save the articles from the feed as an Information Item or as some other database stored item.

If you have an article that points me in the right direction that would be great. if you have a developer recommendation that has done this for you before that would really be helpful.
