Populating Custom Field from Search Results

Hi,
I have created a saved search that shows the total time logged by our support team for each customer to resolve their cases. What I would like to do is populate a custom field in the customer record with that total time value. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to populate a custom field with the results of a saved search?
