Please note that on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 8:00 PM Pacific time, our Case Management System will undergo a scheduled maintenance for approximately 4 hours. During this time, case creation via SuiteAnswers will be unavailable and inbound calls will be routed to Customer Service.
Using the Area Code of a Phone Number to Source Customer Info
Is it possible to create a table of custom record type fields that can be sourced from the first three digits of a phone number on the customer record? A part of this is sales territory information, which I am familiar with in Netsuite. But we have other information like support assignments that we use area codes to dispatch internal and field support that we use to organize assignments.
The idea would be to isolate the area code and vlookup that area code in a custom record type where I have uploaded all the US Area Codes and added several fields for all the support assignments. This would automate how we dispatch our support team rather than manually updating as we add new customers.
