UPC Code

Hi Guys/Gals

I have what hopefully will be an easy question to answer.

Ok i'm trying to use the UPC Code to handle a string of alternate search names for products. Now the tooltip for the field tells me:


Enter a maximum of 999 characters in this field to identify an internal name or number to store the item's UPC Code. You can use the text you enter here when adding the item to transactions, searching, or viewing reports.



So in theory I have 999 characters to use, but, i can only seem to add the following: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz1234

Any ideas on why this is the case?
