Multiple Vendor Issue - Unit of Sale differences by vendor

I have a couple of items that are sold in different unit type by vendor. IE: Our preferred sells them each. we retail them this way as well, but we have a backup supplier who sell them in pair or packs of 5 for example... is there a known workaround to accomplish this easily for inventory management?
