COGS for historical transactions
We are looking to import a years worth of transactional data. We are forced to use inventory items (even though we do not keep an actual inventory) because we were told that this was the only way to use these items on our website.
The problem arises when cost is calculated. There is no way to specify the cost of the item at the time of that transaction (in the past). Cost is always calculated based on the average cost (value / QoH).
Lets say we know the average cost of that item in the last year (this still ends up being a workaround, not the optimal solution), there seems to be no way to set an initial value of inventory during the import. Only QoH, location, reorder point, and preferred stock level.
