Basic manufacturing follow-up in NetSuite
We are a small motorcycle helmet company (900 000K€ turnover) and are moving from a fully subcontracted production to a mainly integrated one by opening a factory.
In the past days I have tried to use NetSuite assembly items&work orders&build but there are two main issues that prevent us from using it:
1) when declaring production we cannot have alternate components
2) assembly items cannot be sold online
So my idea is to keep it very simple, to add the BoM in standard Matrix Serialised Inventory Items by creating a custom tab.
Then to use the "inventory adjustment transaction" in combination with "fake inventory items" for direct labor and overhead to record “assembly build”.
