Anyone using Advanced Bin/Numbered Inventory Management?

I would really like to pick someone's brain on this feature.

1. If enabled, how is order processing affected?

Currently, our CSR's have to enter a batch number for all Lot-Numbered items when fulfilling orders, which slows down the process. (We stopped using lot numbers shortly after we implemented Netsuite) Will enabling this feature require another step to order fulfillment?


2. Does it affect receiving items into stock?


3. If enabled, do we actually have to use it? Can we just enable the feature and forget about it?

The reason I ask is that it must be enabled for us to include Lot-Numbered Inventory Items in Kits and Assemblies.
