Using Inventory Internally
Hello,
I'm working with a coffee company and we are trying to figure out the best way to "use" inventory internally. For example, they roast some coffee and bag it into a finished good product, but then instead of selling it they take it upstairs to a conference room to be used there. We need the product to come out of inventory and to be able to charge it to some internal account.
The two ways I've thought of to use the inventory are:
1. Doing an inventory adjustment
2. Creating a fake customer record and "selling" it to the self-customer.
But I feel like there must be a cleaner solution! How are other people "using" inventory internally?
