Field missing in inventory Managing Preferences

There is a field missing in inventory Managing Preferences, but we found a work-around.  Thought it might help others.

We kept running our of our slow moving "dud items".  NetSuite doesn't track average order quantity (per item).  Maybe it should.  There needs to be a setting to keep a minimum of (average order quantity) times (X), but use an auto calculated reorder point if above that number.  Here is the scenario that makes us run out...

Order analysis interval = 3 months.  Say we get four orders for 6 pcs each in one year (one order per quarter).  So, 24 pcs or 2 per month.  Now, lets say our item is set to keep 60 days or 2 months worth in stock.  So, reorder point would be auto-calculated at 4 pcs.  If we only seem to get orders for 6 pcs, we'll eventually have an orders we can't fulfill.  This could be avoided if NetSuite knew our average order amount (calculated per item) and we could set it to "keep (average order quantity) times (1.5) as
