Custom record getting INSUFFICIENT_PERMISSION

Is Hyperlink custom records no longer allowed to be updated in 2011.2?

I keep getting when I go to update the addList on a customRecord:

INSUFFICIENT_PERMISSION You do not have permissions to set a value for element custrecord_*** to one of the following reasons: 1) The field is read-only; 2) An associated feature is disabled; 3) The field is available either when a record is created or updated, but not in both cases.

I have checked the field in question and it's Display Type is set to Inline Text and its type is Hyperlink.
