Item receipt with MANY serial numbers.

I am working on a project where the customer receives upwards of 3000 serial numbers against a purchase order. The Netsuite UI has a limitation where the length of the field to hold the serial numbers against each line is a fixed width. This allows the customer to store only (roughly) 100 serial numbers against each line.
The workaround they have been using is to change the purchase order and split it into 30 lines - each with a quantity ordered of 100. They then create the item receipt from the purchase order and paste the serial numbers in for each line.
