Advice on Converting Accounts Payable into NetSuite
My company started using NetSuite in 2006, but has only converted Accounts Receivable so far. The accountants still use old Access databases for Accounts Payable. I was hired last fall (IT / NetSuite Administrator), and my first big project is to convert Accounts Payable into NetSuite. I am new to NetSuite and to this company, so I am trying to figure out the best way to do this conversion.
The current Access databases are set up a lot like Quicken... they are for cash based accounting. The accountants create types of expenses & associate the expenses with items that we sell so that they can run reports to see the total expenses related to each item. Our items are courses and publications that we create, so there are lots of different expenses such as parking fees for speakers, name tags, photocopying, etc.
