Wrong Asset Account set on items

We have discovered that items that were created for assembly builds were assigned to the incorrect Asset Account. I tried to go into our Sandbox and take one of these items and recode to the correct asset account, but receive this error. The chosen asset account has been used in the past for another account type.

We need make sure these items are hitting the correct accounts during the workorder process. Has anyone run into this issue before?

Also, is there a way to show the GL impact on workorders before it is completed?
