Is there a way to get NetSuite to allow an alphanumeric value for Immediate Origin and Company ID on

Our bank has assigned us a company ID that is alphanumeric. It is our 10 digit TIN followed by the letter A. When I go to update this field in NetSuite however, I get an error that says Immediate Origin and Company ID must be numeric and will not allow me to save the form.
