Workflow condition on employee role is not working

Hi,

I have a use case where I need to perform some validation upon creating or editing an employee record that has a particular role. However, it seems the role condition is simply not working. To illustrate the situation, I've created a minimal workflow and done some tests as follows:

Test 1 (client-side)

I added a show message action to fire based on the role condition. However, when I edit an employee record where this condition in met, the message is not shown:

Test 2 (server-side)

I added a show error message action on the before submit hook but again, no error is shown and I can save employee records matching this condition
