Trial Balance transaction totals Month by Month

I am new to NetSuite and I am looking for a native report or one that I can modify that will give me the transactions totals by account for expenses each month next to each other for a period of time.  I have not been able to find anything in the financial reports that will give me this.  This seems like a pretty common need for comparison, does anyone have a suggestion of a report that might work?
