Making "Classification/s - (Departments/Classes/Locations)" Mandatory
The effects of enabling the preferences: (Make Departments Mandatory, Make Classes Mandatory, and/or Make Locations Mandatory) under Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences > General tab > Classifications section are listed below:
- The 'classification' field will be mandatory for *all transactions
- Enabling the preference applies prospectively
- Transactions already existing, before the preference/s is/are enabled are not affected unless they are edited
- *The system will not allow saving a transaction without providing a 'classification' except for Journal Entries when "Allow Empty Classifications on Journals" is enabled
