How to apply tax on tax per gallon

edited Apr 2, 2021 10:12PM in General 7 comments

In the Jet Fuel industry, when we upload fuel into a plane, there are a few taxes that are applied to the Gallons uplift. To keep it simple, let's say we uploaded 100 Gallons into wing for $3/Gal in Detroit airport. MI Sales tax is 6%

The first two taxes will be Federal Taxes 1) SUP ($0.00191 per gallon) and KERO($0.24400 per gallon ) . So we have an invoice amount of (100*3 + 100*0.00191 + 100*0.244) * 1.06 -> Michigan Sales Tax of 6% is applied after all taxes are applied to the line.

Two questions in this context

1) How to direct NetSuite to tax qty not amount

2) How to apply tax on tax
