How to apply tax on tax per gallon
In the Jet Fuel industry, when we upload fuel into a plane, there are a few taxes that are applied to the Gallons uplift. To keep it simple, let's say we uploaded 100 Gallons into wing for $3/Gal in Detroit airport. MI Sales tax is 6%
The first two taxes will be Federal Taxes 1) SUP ($0.00191 per gallon) and KERO($0.24400 per gallon ) . So we have an invoice amount of (100*3 + 100*0.00191 + 100*0.244) * 1.06 -> Michigan Sales Tax of 6% is applied after all taxes are applied to the line.
