Planning for Multi-Book - Tax books

Hi, Would like to know if any have implemented a separate set of books following tax rules. I would need to implement this for my operation in Mex how need to report to tax authorities in a specific format. But also would be helpful in the US in case of utilizing for example different depreciation periods for operational PnL than for tax PnL
