Pick task error 'You have an invalid sales order XXXX or the order is already closed'

Hello,

We experience an issue when processing a Pick Task. In certain circumstances the Pick Tasks displays an error 'You have an invalid sales order XXXX or the order is already closed' and the related Sales Order status is changed from 'Pending Fulfilment' to 'Pending Approval' without intervention of an Sales rep.

Does anyone have experience with this error message?
