Managing formulas on Compressed reports

edited Jun 2, 2025 2:28PM in Ask A Guru 4 comments

We have created a custom sales report by CLASS

In the report we have a formula that multiplies Quantity sold by Item Purchase price to calculate a total cost of good sold for that CLASS

Works works great when we have the CLASS expanded, Each item shows the revenue, quantity, purchase price, and calculates the total costs of all the sales.

ex. SKU 1: On $100 in sales of 10 units costing $4/unit, COS=$40

SKU2: On $200, 15, $6 COS=90

But when we compress to show the totals by CLASS only, the Item Purchase Price becomes the Total Item Purchase Price and the formula multiplies the total of all item purchase prices with the quantity.

Howdy, Stranger!
