Seeing monthly, quarterly, annual usage on an item including averages

Hello,

I can't help but notice there is no easy way to see usage broken into months, quarters, and years on items. I define usage as sales + work orders. For example, we manufacture electronics, so any specific circuit board could be sold separately as a part or consumed in a work order for a finished good. Most ERP systems I have used will allow for the aggregation of those two consumption points and easy reporting to see usage. I have included a screenshot below. Am I missing something? How could NetSuite not have similar functionality?
