NSC | TRIM Saved Search
Scenario: Users may need to create an Item saved search that returns a part of a character string but TRIM TRAILING function do not work.
Solution: For example Inventory Items' External IDs are displayed like so "Shirt - Small - AB1" and the user would like to return only the text after the last dash " - " which in this case would be "AB1".
Users can use the below formula:
Formula (Text) | SUBSTR ({externalid},INSTR({externalid},'-',-1,1)+1)
You can play with this formula but the example must give you enough idea on how you would edit it to get the result that you need.
