Thank you to everyone for your passion, collaboration, and support. Here’s to building an even stronger community together in the year ahead!
Season’s greetings to you and yours! As we head into the holidays (December 24 – January 4), we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible strength and collaboration within our community. Even during the break, you can continue to benefit from connecting with peers, searching related threads, posting your questions, and marking helpful replies as “Accepted” in the Support Community.
Please note our dedicated team will be on reduced coverage during this time, and regular responsiveness will resume on January 5. Wishing you a joyful and restful holiday season!

New to NetSuite | Items 104: Items Used for Transaction Management
For users who are #NewToNetSuite, understanding the different item types used for transaction management is essential. In previous articles, we discussed about item types that are mainly used for sales or purchases: Inventory Items, Non-Inventory Items, and Clustered Items.
In this article, we will explore four item types that are used for managing transactions: Discount Items, Subtotal Items, Markup Items, and Payment Items.
Discount Items
Imagine offering your customers special discounts on their purchases. That's where Discount Items come in! These items help you apply percentage or fixed amount discounts to sales orders, invoices, and other transactions. Just create a Discount Item, set the discount amount, and it will be applied to the total when you select it during a transaction.
