Is it possible to use item categories in standard reports to report on categories?

Hi Gurus!

Scenario: We can tag items with different standard categories available on the item record.

Question: However, it is not clear if we can meaningfully report on them. Is it currently possible?

To clarify, I am looking for a standard report (or customized report solution) or standard suitecussess saved search and not an ad-hoc saved search or any custom segment usage for reporting.
