New to NetSuite | Advanced Taxes: U.S. Tax Lookup – Scenarios Part 3
In our previous article, we explained the U.S. tax lookup process with various scenarios for customers having valid shipping addresses. Now, we will continue by presenting scenarios that illustrate how the hierarchy functions in cases where customers do not have a valid shipping address.
If the customer has no valid shipping address:
- The system will pull up the Home Tax Code of the nexus. The home tax code of the nexus could be assigned under Setup > Accounting > Set Up Taxes. The State on the Subsidiary record identifies the default nexus. For example, if the state on the Subsidiary record is California, then the home tax code of the Nexus-California would be looked up.
