Restrict or Customize Record Hover Popups in NetSuite

edited Dec 27, 2025 1:52AM in Ask A Guru 14 comments

As per NetSuite’s default behavior, certain record/entities types such as Customer, Item, Vendor, Employee, Sales Order or Purchase Order display information popups when users hover the mouse over record links. While useful in many contexts, these hover previews often contain sensitive or confidential data, including:

  • Contact details
  • Pricing information

We would like to suppress or customize this default popup behavior to ensure that end users only see limited and non-sensitive fields, or ideally disable the popups altogether for selected roles or record/entities types.

This is critical for our organization’s data protection and role-based access policy. Kindly advise how we can achieve this?

Howdy, Stranger!
