New to NetSuite | Advanced Taxes: Canada Tax Lookup – Scenarios Part 1

Following our previous discussion about the Canada Tax Lookup Hierarchy, we will now present various scenarios to illustrate how it works.

According to the hierarchy, the highest priority is given to the tax item selected on the Customer record. For this demonstration, we'll use two items in a transaction: one with a taxable schedule and another with a non-taxable schedule. Additional details are provided in the scenarios below.

Other details in the transaction:

• The customer is associated with the Canada subsidiary.

• Item’s Tax Schedule:
  • Taxable Schedule – A tax group is selected on the nexus under Sales Tax Code.
