Workflow for copying bill field to VPA

I am trying to figure out a workflow to copy a bill reference number field to the memo field on a VPA. Take the reference number highlighted here:

And paste it automatically into the VPA in the memo field, as shown here:

The documents are already tied together. I can't figure out the correct workflow to make this work. Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!
