How to Identify source of email alerts containing sensitive information?

edited Jun 2, 2025 2:31PM in Ask A Guru 3 comments

Hello,

Our NetSuite environment is sending automated notifications whenever a customer payment record is created. However, it's not clear what is sending the emails. NS Support was unable to locate the origin and escalations were unsuccessful. How can we track it down?

Isolation steps

A review of the Sent Email log confirms the emails are sent from a single environment.

An extensive review of the following objects was unsuccessful:

  • SuiteScripts
  • Scheduled saved searches, including private and public saved searches
  • Workflows
  • General settings and accounting preferences

Header analysis

Curiously, most of the alerts lack the usual X-NetSuite header. This header is always present in NetSuite notifications and indicates where an email came from (e.g. saved search, workflow, etc).

Howdy, Stranger!
