Is it possible to depreciate the residual value of a Fixed Asset?
Hi,
A fully depreciated asset has a remaining value because of the residual value. As the asset is fully depreciated there are no planned depreciation schedules in the depreciation history. Last depreciation period is equal to asset lifetime. The asset is fully depreciated in last bookyear.
But now we would like to depreciate the residual value as 1 amount in the current period.
Therefore took the next steps:
- set the residual % and residual value on the asset record to 0,00% and amount 0.00
- set depreciaton active = True
- set asset status = depreciating
- changed the last depreciation period to lifetime - 1
- changed the depreciation end date to the date of the current period.
