It does get to be very difficult, not only because of the various templates, layouts, etc, that you have to check to adjust appearance, but we also find that sometimes you have to look at categories several levels up to find the problem, because sometimes the upper level settings will override the defaults that are set at…

Enh No. 113404 Web Store: web site preview, staging area, sandbox area where the public cannot view the site until it is published and Enh No. 156429 Web Store: Customer would like a better way to access the different areas in the Netsuite UI that are responsible for the website The second enhancement has the picture of…

I was just thinking back to the way we edited our Yahoo store. I find that it takes way too may clicks to edit anything that I see wrong in our NS web-store. I first find the category or item. I then see what layout it was set to use. I then go to the layout and in some cases the layout uses a template. I then find the…

I agree about the size of the text box. We use the Basic text box and the WYSIWYG Text editor and DreamWeaver (cut/paste) ...it depends on how complicated describing the particular item is, but 90% are basic text. I find it inconvenient to go looking for the right page to adjust content when I see something that needs…

Nice tip ledneonflex, How did you address the "full (E164) Notation" issue? I tested the instruction on a Mac. They worked except it didn't dial 1 for USA. I see the "Prefix to Dial Out" setting by the CTI settings and I tried putting a 1 in there, but it seemed to have no effect. Our NS phone number data is all without…

Not sure how it ranks as a CMS, but someone was talking about an availible system to integrate NS with Magento. -Tom

The instructions at http://gfss.uk.com/netsuiteskype.html worked when I added the 1 to any customer's phone number. I don't want to ask my customers to enter a 1 when entering their customer data. So, it "sort of" works ...but I'd much rather not have the 1 entered into each customer's record. It would be much better if…

Enhancement 70701: Lists>Price Levels> provide a Quantity Pricing table to be able to update Quantity Based Pricing for different Price Levels.

Not exactly what I requested, but fairly close... Enhancement# 148040 - Quantity Pricing Schedule should have pricing option in bundles and excess should be on based price Idealy, I would want bundle prices to have quantity discounts (eg 1 bundle = $50, 2 bundles = $40 per bundle, 10 bundles = $30 per bundle) and then have…

In 2008.2 you will eb able to convert (permanently) a non-inventory item to inventory. That is Good news. Now, I also need to convert hundreds of non-matrix items to matrix items. Any good news coming on that front? We sell traffic signs and the ever changing Department of Transportation rules and new technologies make it…
-
You should create every item as an inventory item IMHO. Inventory items can be drop-shipped and can even default to drop-ship. So, they can do what non-inventory items do ....but the same type of flexibility isn't true for non-inventory items. off topic, but I also believe that NS should do away with matrix items by making…

We don't use the credit memo work-flow unless the customer was invoiced and paid with net-30 terms. For all of our credit card orders (99% of our orders), we use the other RA form (cash form) for our RA and it doesn't do a credit memo if you refund right from the RA. Two RA forms... Standard Return Authorization - Cash…

I found a work-around. Click refund from the customer's cash sale. Copy the "Card Zip Code" and the "Card Street" information and the "P/N Ref" from the refund and PASTE that information into the same fields at the refund that is coming off of your return authorization. Close the 2nd refund that was made from the link at…

From what I understand, they don't need to "hook up" to NetSuite. Has anyone tried one of these services? -Tom

Walravens projects that by 2012, NetSuite will capture 12,500 customers, up from 5,600 today, which will pay double the current average of $20,000 a year, or $500 million in revenue. JMP makes a market in shares of the firm. I'd much rather see them go for 100,000 customers at an average cost of $10,000/Year. They would…

Their site says: Where big business software locks you in with forced yearly contracts and never ending fees, we're interested in earning your business with simple, and ethical business terms. At least they are in touch with one of our biggest frustrations.

As always, we are constantly looking for ways to flatten the learning curve. One simple way... ditch "Item Name/Number" and "Display Name/Code" and replace them with "item number" and "display name". That is clear. Then we know which one gets the text and which one gets digits/code? Also, your developers know how the…

One again... a fraction of what we pay. T

dont think the learning curve will get any flatter. Its ERP stuff remember. Not just a simple crm system. I don't know about each component, but I have spent a lot of time in other cart/webstore platforms and I can say that the NS version could be MUCH easier to learn (especially matrix items). I also looked at some of the…

Your not allowed to say what you pay for NetSuite (in this user's group). Another product hot on the heals of NetSuite is "SAP Business ByDesign". Most of these products are cheaper. That makes me wonder how NetSuite will compete as these other companies move into their market. I remember an old thread about NetSuite not…

NS, thank you for being tolerant of an open discussions about a new competitor. Yes, they look VERY incomplete at this point. They say they are going to stay more "small business" oriented. Smaller price, smaller feature list, easier to use. I also agree that their eventual evolution will probably result in better NS…

You can achieve this without code, which is true of a lot of things people ask us to code. This means one of two things. either 1. People are... or 2. NS is .... -Tom
-
We don't have a "script writer" on staff. We loose a lot of NS functionality because of that fact. Too bad these features aren't configurable with "if/then" pulldown menu selections (similar to the process for adding automation rules in MS Outlook or Mac Mail). T

By the way, you can force a search to take you to the data rather than the record by setting your preferences. They don't have that preference in the search form. I now see the global preference (Show List When Only One Result) at "home>set preferences". I activated it but I don't want the behavior of our OTHER saved…

1. Create a saved search that shows all the data that you need to show about the transaction. Include all body fields and column fields in the results - usually select Main Line= false 2. Add a filter based on tranid. Mark, We are trying your solution. I made a custom transaction search. I didn't see tranid as a filter and…

Has anyone tried webwisemedia.com ? They just called me and reminded me how low our "natural listings" results are in Google. Google's website says... No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google. Beware of SEOs that claim to guarantee rankings, allege a "special relationship" with Google, or advertise a "priority submit"…
