I was wondering about a better way to do this myself. The bill credit does not generate a form that you can use to send the goods back. Is there another way to do this? It looks like only the accounting people have access to this, we would like a way for the person working with the part to be returned to be able to send a…

Thanks for the fast input Evan. Do you know when this release will be out?

Is something going on with this today? I keep getting a message on editing my payments (I didn't get a chance to post checks yesterday and forgot to change the date back, so I am having to edit all of them). On some of them I get a message that says: "This payment was originally applied to invoices to subcustomers and jobs…

Did that work? I have mine set to 300, but it still only shows me 100 at a time for generate statements page. The only way I know how to do them all at once is to do a mail merge. You can create a group based on criteria to weed out any you don't want sent or you can just send it to all customers with a balance.

The only way we have found to fix this is to mark the customer as taxable and to be extra careful to make sure that the transaction is properly marked taxable only when we need to charge the tax. We usually put something in the resale number that says - some items taxable or something. Not the best way, requires a lot of…

You could use a custom form and use the disclaimer field to indicate the invoice is paid.
-
We kind of go overboard with this, since a lot of our customers were calling up for an invoice, even though they had a cash sale. We ended up changing the words "Cash Sale" to "Invoice - Paid" - moving the disclaimer field to just under that and putting in all caps [FONT=Arial][SIZE=1][LEFT]"THIS INVOICE HAS BEEN PAID IN…

We use the memorized transactions for charges that are the same every month. They can be set up to generate an invoice or a cash sale on whatever schedule you like, and you can have these transactions automatically fax, e-mail or print (they go into the print queue, they do not automatically go straight to a printer) after…

I have all of mine post automatically too. On your home page (and most of the other tabs as well) you can set up reminders. If an automatic memorized transaction (invoice or cash sale) fails for any reason, it changes to a reminder for that one time and shows up in your reminders portal. You just have to make sure that you…

Good to know, thanks!

The good news is the status has finally changed - from pending to IN QUEUE - still not processing, but at least it is working, just a lot slower than normal.
-
I do not have a "Standard Sales Order" form - only one for invoice and one for cash sale. Is that something we need to turn on somewhere?
-
If you do a cash refund from the cash sale, it refunds the amount directly to the credit card. It acts as the credit memo, so you don't have to do one separately.

We must not have the advanced tax feature because our shipping items can only be made taxable or not taxable. This would mean for each shipping item we would need one for VT to charge tax on shipping and one for every where else. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the tax schedule be set up to either charge tax on…
-
So we have to purchase this extra feature? How do I deal with this problem with the options I have?
-
Actually, I don't understand. We only have tax codes for the two states where we are required to pay taxes, not for every state. Also, our shipping items don't allow you to choose a tax code, only to select if that shipping item is taxable or not - it is a check box. We don't have the advanced taxes feature, I am assuming…

The generate statements (or even a bulk merge used to send statements) never post on the messages tab - which is very frustrating. How are you sending the statements? I have found that if you choose to fax or e-mail the statements thru the generate statements and it comes to a customer record that doesn't have that field…

Thanks for your answers. The funny thing is before I could do anything, they all magically posted. The ones that hadn't run for two months ended up running in two consecutive days. So some people rec'd their monthly bill dated June 15th on one day, and then their monthly bill dated July 15th on the next. This happened a…

We accept a lot of pre-payments for overseas accounts. We do a sales order (I have made a customized sales order and changed the name from sales order to proforma invoice). When I get the payment I post it on the customer's account as unapplied. The sales order still shows as pending fulfillment. After the order ships and…

Hi Carrie: Yes, we do use custom forms and that box is checked on the form. I put in a custom tax field called TAX EXEMPT - because I was using it to make sure we don't accidently charge tax. I may have to just take out that custom field. Thanks for your input.
-
Hi Mark: I do have the tax fields showing on my custom report, but I don't want them to default to taxable. We actually have to charge very little sales tax, since we sell to mostly Re-sellers who are tax exempt. That is were the custom tax code came in, to put in so we can easily see if the customer is tax exempt if they…
-
Hi Sukriti: This isn't an issue for us because we never send the customer the actual invoice. We let them use the proforma as their only invoice since the amounts are the same. We use the SO number on the shipping documents as well, and it will be the same number they see on their packing list. After the order ships, I…

When you say tax exempt, I assume you mean a blank tax code. I suspect the tax engine can't figure out what tax should be charged. Can you take a look at a transaction that should be charging taxes: - is the customer taxable? If yes, what is the shipping address zip code of the customer? Do you have a tax item code defined…
-
I have the home tax codes set up and the default tax code is set to blank.
-
I'd be interested to know how you do this, as we on occasion have similar issues. We have a few vendors who are also customers and they sometimes want us to put credits from one account onto the other. The only way we can do this is to put a "bill" onto the vendor account to close the credit and then put a credit onto the…

The Wiz is correct. It adds new <font>, <span>, <P> etc. everytime you edit the template. I usually don't view the source on templates because it is so hard to see the wording, which is what I want to change. These are just basic templates that we use to send out invoices and such by e-mail. I often do them in word and…

Hi Mark: Unfortunately I can't help, but I can commiserate. We have the same problem. The records are on the account of a company in Israel, and all of the e-mails go to the employee who had communicated to this company about an order. We have tried deleting all the messages on the account and out of our documents folder,…

You also have to be sure the group is set up as Public.

Has anything been resolved on this? We are trying to find a better way of doing commercial invoices as well.

Thanks for your answer.
