No. In this scenario, a po was made interdependent of the sales order. For example, a special deal was struck to buy quantity of an item @ 25% off normal cost. When making po wanted to tie inventory to sales order so that that these items are ordered through regular channel at regular price. Also, it should be readily…

I have a huge problem regarding re-committing an item that was received via a special order po. If you remove serial # from a sales order in this case, the item remains committed and cannot be re-committed to any other order. We are a big box retailer and 90% of our po's are created as special orders. So if a customer…

Great to hear that i'm not the only one... I just found on the enhancement page that 226 others have voted yes for this, but as of now it indicates that nothing has been scheduled. You should vote if you have not already. I have a demo set up with Onsite for Monday to take a look how their system will work for phone…

Yeah, it ****s. We are going to use Onsite POS for all users that post deposits and that will give us what we need, but is definitely more costly. Netsuite is slated to introduce this functionality in the later part of 2012. What type of business are you in? Kitchen design? We are appliance and electronics retailer.

Gary, I was just reading comments from the enhancement voting page and some go back to 2008, so i'm a bit discouraged that this will ever happen. I believe this will seriously impact our process and i feel we will have to take a big step backwards from our current system. Seems to me that this is not just something that…

Well, considering i'm new to Netsuite, it's all Greek to me... Thanks though maybe soon i'll understand what you have proposed-for now we are going to Use the Onsite POS to post deposits.

I have been told by NS that this change is scheduled for 2012.2 release-let's cross our fingers...

I just can't figure out why this is so. I asked Netsuite and they told me it's because the sales order has no GL impact. That makes no sense as well and explains nothing other than the people who designed it had a very limited view of business in the real world. If i tell the president of our company that after spending…

We are very disappointed in finding this out. I personally have used half a dozen systems which treat deposits the correct way and have also researched another half a dozen that also hold deposits against specific transactions. I would really like an explanation for the rationale behind this process.

Thanks for your reply. That would help some but not enough. Still trying to understand the rationale for taking a deposit, which seems by definition to be tied to a transaction, and considering it a stand alone payment. It seems unnecessary to have to apply a deposit after fulfillment and seems to be a lot of work on the…

Well, we frequently will ship a new product to customer and pick up the damaged or incorrect product for return. Now we have 1 document that tells the logistics company to do all this. In NS i guess to separate transactions, but tying them together and scheduling them in concert is my concern. If we ship a new product out…
