Check out 19808 in SuiteAnswers. Sounds like it is known behavior if the role was used at least once. Now I'm scratching my head trying to remember if the role was ever used. I guess you mark it inactive and then tell the OCD part to forget about it.

I've had the same problem. No one is using the role, nothing is dependent from what I can see and yet NetSuite tells me I am unable to remove. It bugs but hasn't bothered me enough to take the time to submit a case. Probably should though.

Converting leads is nice for combining data but does cause some issues. For us, leads are individuals but customers are always companies. The converting feature allows for this transition between individuals and companies to be pretty smooth. The problem comes in tracking leads for marketing purposes. Until this last…

That makes sense. We follow basically the same model and haven't found an ideal solution. It becomes difficult to track the results of a conference for example. We import a list of conference attendees as leads, some of which are later converted to new contacts on new prospects, others as new contacts on existing…

Yes, merry Christmas to all.

We have been waiting for over a year for news regarding the next update and support for Outlook 2010. Prior to upgrading Outlook, we were using the connector with Outlook 2003. At first there were some bugs but after working with support for a couple months we were able to get most of those figured out. I hadn't heard much…

We have also had this issue several times and what we found is that you can break the link to the sales order by doing the following: - Add a new line item on the Purchase Order with the exact information - Delete the original line item - Save the Purchase Order If you have multiple line items this is kind of a pain but it…

That is true in terms of accessing contacts in a search. We're trying to interact with the transaction record so that wouldn't really help. The official answer from support is that contacts are a subrecord so what we're trying to do can't be done. We've gone another route with scripting more creative than I hoped but we…

I'd also be interested in seeing the script that worked in the end (or some version that's safe to share). I'm trying to figure out the best option at the moment for delivering the results of saved searches to an S3 bucket.
-
Thanks for sharing. I'll review and see if it can help accomplish what we're after.
-
I'm also interested in the solution, if it's something that can be shared. One of my current tasks involves saving csv files from saved searches to an Amazon S3 bucket. This sounds similar enough to be a great starting point.
-
Good tip. I'm checking out the blog post and will keep this in mind for future projects.
-
Appreciate the feedback. I'm checking it out now.

I know this was posted a long time ago but it is a great idea. We are just coming to the close of our implementation and I still am unsure of what is different because we have the software edition.

September and Q3 have now come and gone. Any news? I made the mistake of talking about this after coming back from SuiteWorld and have users who have been looking forward to this. At this point they're thinking the app update is like most other enhancements. Hoping for some kind of update.
-
Plus I'm not sure all are new fixes. I've been using passwords with non-alphanumeric for quite a while. I agree that the app is long overdue for some added features.
-
Yep, that should work. That should be easy enough to tie into one of the events on the form.

It wouldn't make sense to have Release Date an always mandatory field. If the field had to have a value then all active employees would also have to have a release date specified. You could use a script to make the field mandatory if certain conditions are met.

Great input. Thanks for taking the time to post your ideas. I actually hadn't seen that you can join on transactions from the contact. That is a much better starting point than anything else I have tried. At the moment I don't know that we are consistently using the contacts on transactions but I'm pretty sure I can get…
-
I'm still worried that even when they say "All fields supported" it would be better expressed as "All fields we decided should be supported are supported." I have been disappointed trying to create searches and reports only to find that the join I am looking for is not even available. Instead my options include exporting…

Maybe I'm missing something. I thought of using a saved search but ran in to similar limitations. I started with a saved search for Transactions. The criteria are Type = Sales Order and Item On Any Line = (my installation item). That does give me the transactions I'm trying to identify. There is still the problem of…

I agree that a couple of examples would be helpful. The self-paced training videos basically just do the same thing twice and do not go through the process of setting things up, only explaining something that already exists.
