AP and AR - Restrict JE use, but allow everything else

Hello Gurus! :)

Scenario: Is it possible to restrict an account in such a way that it is not available in manual journal entries, but is available for just about any other purpose, such as credit memos, etc. I know we can restrict by way of making them "summary", non-posting accounts, but in that case nothing will ever post to them.
